The Project
Malmö Live is a 54,000 sqm concert, congress and hotel complex situated on Universitetsholmen in Malmö. The award winning complex obtained the LEED Platinum certification.
Being a 25-storey building located in the heart of Malmö, it is a hard-to-reach construction site. The material had to be lifted 85 meters high. Given the limited storage space, each delivery required accurate and timely planning, usually in the evenings.
Why BMI Group?
BMI’s green roof solution contributed to achieving the challenging environmental standards required for the certification. A complete bitumen-based 1-layer system was mounted under the sedum layer to protect the underlaying structure from moisture and chemicals. The green roof solution allows Malmö Live to combine contemporary design with sustainability.
