The Project
Rosebery is an underground polymetallic base metal mine located in the township of Rosebery in Tasmania, Australia.
The project aimed to waterproof a tailing pond. Due to the harsh climate conditions of the area which include heavy rains, high winds and even snow, the project’s requirements were particularly challenging; moreover fast installation was a must.
When allowed by the weather conditions, 6000 sqm of Teranap were installed on the slope in just a single day. In every instance on-site where the liner was placed under tension for various reasons, there was no observed failure of any welded seam.
Why BMI Group?
BMI Siplast’s Teranap was chosen for this project because of its weldability and flexibility to conform to irregular shapes and surface conditions. The customer installed 190000 sqm net area of the Teranap liner and 250000 sqm of upper and lower cushioning geotextile.
